VIDEO: Laser station for marking bearings
Automation and industrial robotics are becoming increasingly important aspects of modern industry. LINTECH, a company specializing in the design and construction of single-purpose machines for automation, presents its latest project - a laser station for marking bearings.
Universal station for different bearing diameters and widths
A key feature of this laser station is its ability to handle a variety of bearing diameters-from 100 mm to a robust 400 mm, with weights ranging from 1 kg to 75 kg. The station is designed to meet a wide range of customer needs. These include unattended handling, automatic positioning and marking variability.
Intelligent laser marking workflow
The uniqueness of this laser station lies in its ability to automatically detect the bearing diameter and its position on the infeed conveyor. This is essential, especially in cases where bearings are randomly scattered on the conveyor.
The whole process starts with the part being moved to the marking location using the conveyor. The station then has two marking options-perimeter or face. Before marking from the face, the station can position the parts accurately. This variability significantly expands the marking options and adapts to specific customer requirements.
Positioning equipment for perimeter marking
In cases where laser marking of the bearings around the perimeter is required, the machine sets the exact roller spacing and the part is flipped into a vertical position. This ensures maximum accuracy and minimises the risk of errors. This is key to ensuring consistent and high quality markings around the perimeter of the bearing.
Once the marking is complete, the part moves smoothly to the outfeed conveyor where it either continues on to the next operation on the production line or moves to the take-off conveyor, designed to take already marked bearings, for example for inspection. This integration with the conveyor enables a continuous flow of the production process and minimises time loss.
